Sofa buying guide

Plan seating around the room, movement and daily use.

Before choosing a sofa, measure the wall lengths, doorways and the clear paths people use through the room. The number of seats matters, but the overall depth and layout often determine whether the sofa feels comfortable in the space. An L-shape can define an open-plan lounge, while separate seats may offer more flexibility where the room layout changes often.

Fabric and colour should suit how the sofa will be used. Homes with frequent guests or children may prioritise practical upholstery and easy maintenance, while a formal lounge may put more emphasis on texture and statement colour. For custom orders, MonDee can discuss seating capacity, dimensions, fabric choice and colour before confirming the final quotation and delivery arrangement.

Think about the furniture around the sofa as well. The height and footprint of a coffee table should work with the seat height and leave enough room to move comfortably. For a coordinated living room, compare TV stands or return to the MonDee furniture catalogue. Sharing room measurements and a reference image helps make the custom-order discussion more precise.
